Back Racing in Balclutha for the First Time in a While

What a great day of racing in Balclutha! Sunday 26 February brought back the Balclutha Interclub Meet, hosted by Clutha United Swimming Club, after  a number of years of cancellations. The event welcomed more than 80 athletes from across Otago and Southland, with lots of PBs being broken and fun all round!

Well done to everyone that took part in this competition - it was fantastic to see so many young athletes trying out racing for the first time, as well as a number of older athletes trying out new events. We would also like to extend our gratitude to all the timekeepers, officials, and other volunteers that made this weekend possible.

We would also like to congratulate Mark Familton (Neptune), who is our newest accredited Starter. Mark passed his Regional Starter assessment over the weekend to become a qualifed Starter! What an amazing accomplishment, Mark, and thank you for the countless hours you spend on pool deck to make our sport possible!
